The following passengers must provide Alitalia with a Medical Information Form (MEDIF):
In the above cases, the MEDIF must be completed by your physician, dated within 10 days of your scheduled departure flight, and clearly indicate that you are capable of completing the flight safely, without requiring extraordinary medical assistance during the flight.
Alitalia also requires a MEDIF for any passenger who has a communicable disease or condition that could pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others on the flight. In such cases, the MEDIF must be completed by your physician, dated within 10 days of your scheduled flight, and clearly indicate that the disease or infection would not, under the present conditions in your case, be communicable to other persons during the normal course of a flight. The medical certificate must also state any conditions or precautions that would have to be observed to prevent the transmission of the disease or infection to other persons in the normal course of a flight.
Finally, a MEDIF completed by a physician stating that the passenger has been examined and is physically fit to fly, and dated within 7 days of the passenger’s scheduled departure flight, must be provided to Alitalia at least 72 hours prior to such departure, in the following circumstances:
