When your baggage exceeds in number, dimension and/or weight the allowance required, an excess baggage charge has to be paid to Alitalia at the ticket desks at airport, according to the rates listed below.
Excess charge rates shown in the table below have to be considered per single flight segment and with the following currencies: EUR or equivalent from Europe, Japan, China; CAD or equivalent from Canada; USD from USA and Rest of the World.
The table below lists the baggage allowance and excess rules that apply for tickets purchased on or after December, 3, 2013. Excess baggage charges shown in the table below are given in: EUR or equivalent from Europe, East Europe and Japan; CAD from Canada; USD from USA and rest of the world1.

The table below lists the baggage allowance and excess applicable to tickets issued from/to North America starting on or after December 3, 2013. 1. For countries whose currency is USD the same fee of flights originating US applies.

3. North Africa (Algiers, Cairo, Casablanca, Tripoli, Tunis)
4. Europe, East Europe, Middle East, North Africa (Premium Economy class is not available on these flows)
5. Middle East (Amman, Beirut, Abu Dhabi)
6. West Africa (Accra, Lagos); from/to Western Africa only 2 extrapiece is allowed
Excess baggage in number of pieces, sizes and weight can be added up: for example, if in addition to the two pieces allowed, there is a third piece which is also over foreseen weight, total cost of excess baggage charged will be 200+100 euros or $.
Additional fees for issuance of receipts may apply and will be charged to the requesting passengers.

Please note that for code share flights is applied the baggage policy of the operating company partner over the entire flight, if the flight is operated entirely by the partner.
